History
Champ Europe was established in 1987 and specialised in housing and means of transportation for dogs. The customers were mainly breeders, training clubs and professional dog handlers from Police K9 divisions, armed forces, and security firms. The products were also available to private dog owners.
The significant practical experience of the founder (more than 25 years of breeding and training dogs) played an important role in the development of several products that were offered to professional users and buyers
Development and range
Right from the start, dog food was an important product for "Champ". The cooperation with professionals in the dog world, provided vital information about the nutritional needs of their dogs. Market research revealed, that there was no effective nutrition available for dogs that were under a lot of physical and mental pressure, like Police K9's. Keeping these particular dogs in good shape, was a chore.
Plenty of maintenance foods were available, as there were high energy foods, but no middle of the road products, in nutritional value nor price, seemed to exist.
The cost, however, was not the main issue. The most significant challenge was to meet the demands of every particular dog since proper nutritional support for dogs with special dietary needs was hard to find. Research into the products available in the market revealed that dogs with minor medical imperfections are also unable to use the high-energy products. This prompted the owner to commission professional nutritionists to develop products for these categories of dogs. If the right products could be produced, this would benefit all dogs. Transforming food into usable energy, for any dog, at any age or in any condition and for whatever function the dog has to fulfil was the final goal.
After a long period of research and testing in testing kennels and also in practice with dogs that do the hardest work, Champ Dogfood was launched on the market with a phased range of energetic values. The term energetic refers to - the energy value.
